BIO
Kevin Perez was born in Miami, FL, and from an early age knew he wanted to be apart of the magic of film making and visual story telling. His love for the creative process has been a true testament of being able to adapt to new challenges and surroundings. Perez finds it extremely important in his process to help protect the authenticity of each artist when collaborating, helping them fight for validation of their personal experiences and creative freedoms. It’s his goal to live out his dreams and assist artist bringing their creative visuals to life.
A graduate from Jackson State University with a degree in Media Production, while telling local stories as a photojournalist in Jackson, MS he collaborated on works with Thabi Moyo(MS Films),Roderick Red(RedSquared) and D.O.P Robby Paintanida(GeneralUsage), and worked on productions for his previous company.
Living in Los Angeles, Perez has worked on many large sets for AFI & USC film programs, independent feature films, and music videos in roles on the creative team, producing, camera and lighting department with over 7 years of experience in film production assistance.
Competent in all sorts of situations on set, there is no role too big, or too small, that Perez is not willing to undertake to assist the artist and creative teams execute the vision.

General Usage is a boutique production company, founded by Robby Paintanida, specializing in high end visual content. With over a decade of experience in documentaries, narratives, commercials, music videos, editorial and branding content we can execute your vision on a cinematic level. Full service production and post services include camera crews, lighting crews, directors, DPs, editors, sound designers, VFX, and color services.
